Internet services snapped in Anantnag

Anantnag: Authorities on Saturday snapped mobile internet services in Anantnag district of Southern Kashmir.

Reports said that all the mobile internet service providers have shut down 2G/3G/ and 4/G data services in the district.

The step has been apparently taken in view of the law and order situation in the district in the aftermath of the killing of a local militant.

Arif Ahmad Mir, a resident of Yenned in Pahalgam was killed along with four other associates in Killora village of Shopian district.

After his killing, thousands of residents of neighboring village assembled at his native village to participate in his funeral prayers.

The residents also clashed with the government forces resulting in injuries to several people.
