Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) is going to organise seminars, symposia and other events in near future.
According to a statement by the varsity, a meeting was held by CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and was also attended by Dr. Gh Nabi Qasba, Prof. S Fayaz Ahmad, Prof SM Afzal Qadiri, Mr. G J Nehvi IAS (Retd), Prof. Abdul Ghani, Prof. G M Bhat, Prof. M A Dar, Prof. SA Rathore and SGM Andrabi Joint Secretary IIPA.
The meeting decided to hold daylong symposium, seminar on the topics “Flood Preparedness in Kashmir” and “Need to fight Drug Addiction” between September to November 2018 in association with the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), a statement said.
A sub-committee comprising G N Qasba and G J Nehvi will coordinate the organising of these two events, it said.
The meeting also decided to hold annual inter-college, inter-university, inter-department debate at Kashmir University in the near future. The topic for this debate was chosen to be “youth are not taking full advantage of on line information Systems.” The vice-chairman and Prof. Qadri will hold a meeting with DSW of Kashmir University next week to finalise the arrangements of this debate, a statement reads.
It was also decided to launch a membership drive for 10 slots earmarked for Kashmir.
