Army shoots dead civilian at Ganawpora in Shopian, another critical

Shopian: A civilian was killed by army during clashes in Ganawpora village in Shopian while another suffered critical injuries.

The slain was identified as Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Kralcheck village in neighbouring Pulwama district. 

Reports said that Bilal was brought dead to Shopian district hospital. He was injured during clashes in army firing and  in Ganawpora, where militants offered gun salute to slain militants.

Local sources said that the army opened fire on the funeral procession after the militants offered gun salute. They said that another civilian has received critical firearm injury.

“He was shifted to a local hospital from where he has been referred to a Srinagar hospital.”
