Man critically wounded in forces’ firing in Kupwara

Kupwara: A middle-aged man was critically injured on Thursday when government forces opened fire on people who were carrying the body of slain militant Bilal Ahmad Shah to his native village Shatmuqam in Kupwara district. The overnment forces opened fire near Krusun village in Lolab valley on Thursday evening, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.
Witnesses identified the injured civilian as 55-year-old Mohammad Jamal Tantray. He was hit by two bullets, one in his left arm and one in his abdomen. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Jamal is said to be the muezzin at a local mosque and was on his way to the mosque to call for prayers when he was injured in the firing.
Block Medical Officer Sogam, Dr Firdous Ahmad, confirmed that a middle-aged man with two bullet injuries was brought to the loval hospital for treatment. He said the condition of the injured was critical.
