Internet services snapped in Pulwama after militant killings

Pulwama: Internet service on Friday was snapped in this south Kashmir district amid apprehensions of widespread protest against the killing of a local militant in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

2G, 3G and 4G services were suspended by all private cellular companies and the state run BSNL in most parts here amid fears that the protests might break out over the killing of a local militant in Sopore in an encounter today.

Khurshid Ahmad Malik, 26 of Arabal, Nikas here and his associate Riyaz Ahmad Dar were killed in a fierce encounter in Drussu area of Sopore. One solider was also killed in the gun-battle that raged in the early hours today.
