Gunfight breaks out in north Kashmir

Srinagar: A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out after contact was established between the two during a cordon and search operation (CASO) launched late last night in Drusoo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla, sources said on Friday.

Earlier a CASO was launched after input about the presence of militants in the area, sources said.

The CASO was launched by army’s 32 RR and SOG, they added.

Meanwhile, internet service has been snapped in the area while the encounter is underway.
