Govt forces open fire in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, teenager wounded

Srinagar: A teenager was critically injured on Friday when government forces opened fire to disperse a group of people who were protesting against the killing of two Hizb militants in a gunfight in Lolab valley of Kupwara on Thursday.

16-year-old Danish Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Rabani was critically injured when government forces opened fire at a group of protesting youth in Kalaroos area of the frontier district this afternoon, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Lone, who received bullet in his abdomen, was taken to the nearby hospital for treatment. However, the doctors there referred him to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that the youth were protesting against the killing of Hizb militants Bilal Ahmad Shah and Zahoor Ahmad, when the government forces fired upon them.
