SRINAGAR: A 2-Day workshop on “Developing Reading & Writing Skills: Methods & Techniques” was organized at Gov. Degree College (Boys) Pulwamaon Tuesday.
According to a statement issued here, the objective of the workshop was to teach and train the students by providing them a platform not only to learn and understand the basic rules, methods and techniques of reading and writing, but to help them in expressing and exploring their skills, abilities, and potential as ‘emerging’ writers in their respective interesting fields.
The workshop revolved around two major themes, viz. ‘Reading—Rightly’ and ‘Write—Right’.
Principal, GDC Pulwama, Prof B A Mir emphasized on the importance of reading and writing.
Prof Imran Ahmad spoke on “Reading Comprehension (Reading Skills)”; and three resource persons, namely Prof Jon Mohammad, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Prof Ab Gani Kumar spoke on different aspects of on “How to Write an Article” (in English and Urdu languages).
Dr Tauseef Ahmad Parray shared his experiences on “Guiding Principles of Writing a Book Review”.
In valedictory session, the participants gave their feedback highlighting the importance of conducting such kind of events in the college, and then certificates/mementoes were distributed among the participants, resource persons, and organizers of the workshop.
