SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has paid tributes to “great martyr” Mohammad Maqbool Malik of Anantnag on his anniversary on Monday.
JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Maqbool Malik saying “he was a pious Muslim, a religious person and a passionate freedom fighter who stood for the cause of freedom, adhered to this cause and embraced martyrdom”.
JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt along with district president Muhammad Ishaaq Ganie and others visited the bereaved family and participated in a condolence meeting held on the occasion.
Terming Malik as “a great freedom fighter and patriot”, JKLF vice chairman said “he was a brave man who stood firm for a righteous cause and sacrificed his life for the same”.
“At the end of the meeting, special prayers were held for Malik and other martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir,” the statement said.
