PAMPORE: Pampore Bar Association on Monday re-elected advocate Arshid Ahmad Dar as president after he won the election for the second time.
Advocate Arshid Dar defeated advocate Bashir Ahmad Malik by a margin of 5 votes. Advocate Ajaz Ahmad Khan was elected secretary and Ashrat Sidque as treasurer.
According to officials, elections were held under the supervision of Reader of Munsif Court Pampore Khurshid Ahmad and executive body members including senior advocate Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, senior advocate Haji Abdul Ahad Bhat, advocate Tasaduq Farooq and advocate Rohi Jan, at Munsif Court Complex, Pampore.
The voting started at 4 pm and concluded at 6 pm. After the voting was over, the election results were announced by senior advocate Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday.
For the post of secretary, the contest was between advocate Ajaz Ahmad Khan and Arif Masoodi which was won by Khan.
For the post of treasurer, the contest was between advocate Ashrat Siduque and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat which was won by latetr.
After the declaration of results, the new team pledged to work with dedication and honesty for the betterment of their fraternity.
Newly elected office bearers were garlanded by their supporters.
