PCCF Manoj Panth tours Shopian forest, wildlife sanctuary

SRINAGAR: Principal Chief Conservator Forests (PCCF) Manoj Panth on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Shopian forest division and wildlife sanctuary, in south Kashmir.

Accompanied by regional wildlife warden, DFO Shopian and wildlife warden Heerpora sanctuary, PCCF directed the concerned departments to ensure foolproof security and functioning of the department.

He impressed upon the concerned authorities of forest division Shopian to conduct nakas, ensure patrolling during nights and nab the movement of illicit timber smuggling.

PCCF walked through a number of compartments and discussed various issues with the grassroots employees regarding safety of forests and various other problems faced by employees while performing their official duties.

The concerned DFO and wildlife warden apprised PCCF of the measures taken for better forests and wildlife in the area.
