Protest held across north Kashmir to press for demands

Baramulla: Score of teachers under the banner of Teacher’s Joint Action Committee held a protest in Baramulla and at other areas of north Kashmir on Saturday demanding delinking of their salary and implementation of 7th pay commission.
The teachers from SSA, RMSA, RET and RRT’s took part in the protest which was called by Ab Qayoom Wani, president Teachers Joint Action committee (TJAC).
Talking to Kashmir Reader, zonal president Ishfaq Ahmad Shah of teacher’s forum, said that government has failed to release their honorarium on time, leaving them to suffer. He said that the teachers are demanding delinking of their salary and implementation of 7th pay commission for a long time but the government is not listening to their pleas.
The protesting teachers also said that they will continue to stage protests against the government in case their demands are not met.
The teachers also submitted a memorandum to ZEO Baramulla.
Meanwhile, protests were also held in Uri, Boniyar, Narvaw, Sopore, Pattan, Handwara, Langate, Kupwara and Bandipora, Hajin area of north Kashmir.
