Baramulla: The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Farooq Gillani (IFS) on Friday visited Langate, Kehmil and Kamraj forest division of north Kashmir.
During the visit, he inspected plantation works under CAMPA at Shilthera Mawar and Vodhpora areas. He also inspected conifer nurseries at Sanzipora, Zachaldara and Zangli and gave instructions to field officers for their proper maintenance for quality plant production.
Later on, a meeting with the officers of all divisions of north Kashmir was held at forest complex Zangli Kupwara to review the progress on time bound action on various administrative matters pertaining to field staff like conducting of DPC at circle level and submission of cases under SRO 520.
The DFOs were asked to take up proactive and coordinated steps jointly with forest protection force (FPF) to ensure that no damage to the forest takes place and protection measures are taken at all levels.
During the meeting, the DFOs were asked to take on top priority the eradication of alleged bung cultivation in some areas of Kupwara and Handwara forests and eviction of already recorded encroachment on forest land and report progress within one week.
