Two siblings from Lal Bazar drowned in water reservoir close to Dachigam National Park on Sunday
Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursdayvisited the residence of two siblings at Lal Bazaar here who were drowned at Harwan. Abrar Altaf (18) and Irtiqab Altaf (16) drowned this Sunday after they had gone for swimming in the water reservoir close to Dachigam National Park.
According to the statement issued here, a spokesperson said that after being released from the house detention, Mirwaiz visited the family and expressed heartfelt condolence over their irreparable loss.
He said that Mirwaiz also visited the residence of Altaf Ahmed Shah at Qamarwari and condoled the demise of his father and long-time Awami Action Committee worker Peer Hafizulalh.
“Mirwaiz while extending his deep hearted condolences to the family, prayed for the highest standards in janah for the departed soul,” he said.
Shah was a member of Muslim Conference and had worked under Muhajire Milat Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah and later with Awami Action Committee.
A delegation of AAC led by Muhammad Shafi Khan visited the residence of Shah and participated in the congregational Fateh prayers while as another delegation comprising Muhamamd Yousuf Bhat, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Farooq Ahmed Lone, Muhamamd Sayed Dedmari visited the Ganderpora Eidgah and participated in the congregational Fateh prayers of another party’s worker Ghulam Muhammad Wani.
