TRAL: Government forces detected and defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in Tral town of Pulwama district on Thursday.
A team of police, army, and CRPF detected a 20 Kg IED fitted in a bucket along Handoora-Tral road on Thursday evening, SP Awantipora Mohammad Zahid told Kashmir Reader. The bucket with the explosive device was kept in a small ditch on the road. A bomb disposal squad was called and the IED was defused without causing any damage.
He said the IED was planted apparently to target the government forces which pass through the area every day.
He said that the explosive would have created havoc if not detected.
