SRINAGAR: To have a transparent and accountable system in fertiliser sector, Director Law Enforcement Agency J&K, Abdul Rahim Samoon on Wednesday emphasised upon fertiliser dealers to adopt the direct benefit (DBT) system on real-time basis, so that the end user, the farmers, get benefitted by the system.
Samoon instructed the representatives, of different fertiliser companies for maintaining a fair and transparent system to run their business. He warned erring dealers that action under law would be initiated against those found guilty of violating fertiliser control order, read a handout.
Joint Director Extension Kashmir, Mohammad Iqbal Chowdary instructed the wholesale dealers to use RO module on real time basis so that dealer dispatch ID should reach the retailers on real-time basis for dispatch of stocks and emphasised on acknowledgement of stocks by retailers on real-time basis, it read.
It was further instructed that the demand of fertilisers raised to different fertiliser companies should be made in advance as per the requirement received by retailers on a prescribed format, it read.
To update the retailers about training programmes and latest proceedings of POS, Joint Director Extension instructed the companies/wholesalers to provide information of the dispatch of stocks to Chief Agriculture Officer and Joint Director Extension through the enforcement agency.
40 thousand metric tonnes of fertilisers are shown in stocks and the retailers were instructed to check their stock position and liquidate their stocks through POS machines, the handout added.
