Welcomes new director tourism

SRINAGAR: In its Executive Committee meeting held in Srinagar on Wednesday, Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) welcomed the new Director Tourism Kashmir, Tassaduq Jeelani. They expressed hope that Tassaduq would help promote the much demanding adventure tourism in the region which is growing rapidly across the world.
In a statement issued here, President ATOAK, Rauf Tramboo said adventure tourism in Kashmir needed a push to put this important segment of tourism trade on international adventure map. The ATOAK Executive Committee members shall meet the new director soon to discuss the changing scenario of adventure tourism in the world. They will also discuss as to how to promote adventure tourism of Kashmir in rest of the world. Tramboo further said that Tassaduq is an avid and enthusiastic adventurer himself who reached Aru, Pahalgam in winter to facilitate skiers there, when he was working as DDC Anantnag, “and that depicts his love towards adventure tourism”.
The ATOAK members also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to outgoing Director Tourism Kashmir, Mahmood A Shah “who left no stone unturned to promote leisure tourism in Kashmir and also tried to inculcate the spirit of adventure among youth”, the statement added.
