Official sources told Kashmir Reader that train service on Srinagar-Banihal line has been suspended as a ‘precautionary measure’ in wake of the ongoing encounter in Anantnag’s Lal Chowk. However, trains on Srinagar-Budgam to Baramulla in north Kashmir, the official said, will run as per schedule.

A fierce encounter is underway in Mehmaan Mohalla, Lal Chowk between two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants and the government forces.
