Srinagar: The Government of India has allocated over Rs 1,800 crore for Jammu and Kashmir under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan for the current financial, 2018-19.
Announcing the allocations for the SSA, under which are merged the erstwhile Sarva Shissha Abhiyan (SSA), the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE), on Twitter on Tuesday, Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar said that Rs 1,882.24 crore had been allocated for the state.
Javadekar claimed that last year’s allocation to J&K for “#SSA, #RMSA and #TE together” (sic) was Rs 1,854.19 crore.
“More to come,” wrote Javadekar with the hash tags #TransformingEducation and #SaafNiyatSahiVikas.
State Project Director SSA, JK, Tufail Matoo said that they were yet to receive any official communication over the allocation.
