SRINAGAR: Career counseling and Placement Cell of Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-K on Tuesday organized a programme on career opportunities for forestry students.
According to a statement issued here, Prof T H Masoodi, Dean Faculty of Forestry laid emphasis upon all to arrange these programs in future also so that students will get an exposure towards the job opportunities in forestry and allied sectors.
Chairman Interview Board, Staff Selection Commission of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Dr K P Ouseph gave a detailed account about the facing of interviews for various jobs in government as well as in private sector. He encouraged the students to prepare for the competitive examinations and demonstrated the skills how to be confident while facing the interview board.
“The total duration which you spend in the interview is equal to your studies period which you spend for whole of your life span. In the interview board you are talking to the strangers and you should know the methods and ways how to talk to strangers, it will also depict your social behavior in the society,” he advised students.
He asked students to make best of presence and show maximum confidence in the interview.
Gopindihdn, former Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Kerala stressed upon the students to be good managers rather than subject specific. “Nowadays, the jobs are less in government sector and we have to search for private jobs also. Private sector is job oriented and has a specific orientation towards the human resources and other commodities,” he said.
He said the forest managers have a good skill and they can manage the other jobs also.
