SRINAGAR: Masarat Alam-led Muslim League on Monday condemned the slapping of another PSA on Mushtaq-ul-Islam who also heads his faction of the League.
A League spokesperson in a statement said slapping another PSA on Mushtaq-ul-Islam and shifting him to Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, is “highly deplorable, political vendetta and human rights violation”.
“Such tactics will not break Kashmiris’ resolve towards pro-freedom movement. Slapping detention orders under PSA time and again on the same person over same charges is unjustified,” he said.
The spokesperson appealed the international community and international human rights organisations to seriously take notice of “human rights violations” taking place in Jammu and Kashmir “in the name of so-called laws”.
Meanwhile, the League slammed authorities for shifting Showkat Hakim, Mohammad Yousuf Malla and Manzoor Ahmad Parray to Kot Bhalawal and Hiranagar Jail Jammu.
“Government wants to give an impression that whoever raises a genuine voice against it will be put behind bars without any justification,” the spokesperson said.
He urged the international human rights organisations including Amnesty International to exert pressure on New Delhi to release all the political detainees and ensure immediate revocation of PSA which is in force in Jammu and Kashmir.
