Gurgaon: The Gurgaon-based Paras Hospitals has launched OPD care in Srinagar to mark the one year association with Ramzaan Hospital, Srinagar under the ‘Bridging the medical gap initiative’ which the leading multi-speciality healthcare provider became a part of in July 2017 by launching a specialised neurosurgery care OPD.
On the occasion of the anniversary, Dr Neeraj Bishnoi, Facility Director said, “The revolutionary initiative led to a collaboration which turned one recently. The journey has really been exciting, and strengthening the relationship further, we have launched an outpatient department which will include specialties like cardiology and urology, with active percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) surgeries. The surgeries will be performed in Srinagar itself.”
Specialties such as brain, spine, bone and joints are also being included in the OPD which will benefit thousands of Srinagar citizens, providing them better avenues of quality healthcare services, he said adding people can avail these OPD services once a month with specified third Saturday and Sunday of each month.
Dr Amit Srivastava, senior consultant, Neurosurgery, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon on the occasion said, “Today, the awareness has so much raised among the residents of Srinagar that not even the patients suffering from brain and spine tumour reaches us but the patients with head injury also contact us for the treatment. So far we have treated more than 200 patients in our outreach clinic and more than 50 patients were operated with different types of brain tumours, spine tumours, lower back pain, and spontaneous brain bleed etc and we have seen that problem of back pain very common in Srinagar in middle and old age population.”
“With lower back pain, people have lot of misconception of the surgery and think that it is unsuccessful but today the technology has so much evolved and with endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, the results of spine surgery and quiet satisfactory,” he said.
