Body of minor boy fished out from river Jhelum in Sopore

Srinagar: Police on Sunday retrieved the body of a minor boy who drowned in river Jhelum in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A joint team of police, army and locals fished out the body of Nazim Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Malik, who drowned in the river Jhelum on Saturday, official sources told Kashmir Reader.

Farooq, a resident of Kazihama drowned while taking a bath in the river. His body was recovered from Doabgah, Sopore.

“The body has been handed over to his family after completion of legal formalities,” official sources added.
