Arts Emporium employees protest, seek removal of director

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government Arts Emporium employees on Friday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding removal of managing director (MD) and release of their salary.
Scores of employees assembled here in Art Emporium department premises here and raised slogans in favor of their demands.
The protestors said that government is doing injustice with them and their salary is pending from last nine months. They demanded immediate release of their salary.
President of Arts Emporium Employees Association Zia-U- Haq accused Managing Director of Arts Emporium of his involvement in corrupt practices in the department.
“We appeal present government to remove the managing director immediately to secure the interests of the department,” he said.
The President also appealed the higher authorities to merge this Arts Emporium Department with Handicraft department.
