PAMPORE: A teacher at Upper Primary School Krunchoo in Pampore area Pulwama district was attached to Zonal office after parents of several students complained of her “rude behavior” and chopping hair of students.
“I have visited the UPS Khrunchoo after receiving information about the incident of hair cutting of students and inquiry has been ordered with directions to inquiry team to report within a week,” ZEO Pampore Ghulam Ahmad Dar told Kashmir Reader.
On Tuesday, a female teacher at the government school chopped off bits of hair of about 15 boys “unevenly”.
The boys study from classes 1 to 5, locals told Kashmir Reader. Parents, who spoke to Kashmir Reader, asserted that act was unacceptable to them.
“After coming back home my son told me he would not attend the school from tomorrow as he had felt insulted after the uneven hair cut,” a parent said, adding that the incident was against this ethos of education.
“This hair cut instead of inspiring the students discourages them and can even ruin their future,” another parent said.
The students and parents demanded that the teacher responsible for the act should not stay at the school.
