KUPWARA: Scores of students from Government Degree College (GDC) Kupwara took out a protest demonstration on Tuesday against the killing of Trehgam youth, Khalid Ahmad Malik, by army last week.
Shouting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans, the students tried to come out of the college but were stopped by the college management. Some students, however, managed to sneak out, and marched towards the main market where they were stopped by government forces, resulting into minor clashes.
Some students hurled stones on forces who responded with tear gas.
Khalid Ahmad Malik was shot dead by an army patrol party in Trehgam on Wednesday last week when some boys hurled stones to the patrol party.
