JKAACL pays tributes to music maestro Nassarullah Khan

SRINAGAR: Rich tributes were paid to renowned Kashmiri music composer, (Late) Nassarullah Khan on his 13th death anniversary. In this connection a function was organised here at Tagore Hall Srinagar, which was attuned by a large number of admirers of Nassarullah Khan besides students from various educational institutions.
A statement issued here said the function was presided over by Director Radio Kashmir Srinagar Syed Himayoun Qaisar while Secreatry Academy Dr Aziz Hajini was also present on the occasion. Renowned artists including Dr Shayista Ahmad, Tehseena Shafi, Parveen Azad, Qazi Rafi, Bilal Ahmad, Sumaira Jan, Tasleema Langoo, Fehmeeda Akhter, Mohsin Dilshad, Altaf Ahmad and others presented popular compositions of Nassarullah Khan.
The whole audience was enthralled with the sizzling performance of the artists, the statement said.
Earlier while presenting welcome address, Mohd Ashraf Tak Chief Editor JKAACL described Nasarrullah Khan as “a legend who has contributed a lot for the promotion and development of Kashmiri music”.
“It is our endeavour to pay tributes to Nassarullah Khan and pledge to carry forward the mission to serve his cultural legacy,” he said.
Nasarullah Khan Memorial Award was presented to Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothi Bagh, on the occasion.
Programme was moderated by Rasheed Nizami and Rubi Nisa Khan while as Rehmatullah Khan and Dr Alamar Hussain SOCA of the Academy, coordinated the event.
