SRINAGAR: A local court on Tuesday directed SHO Shaheed Gunj to submit a detailed report about the canopy demolition at Jehangir hotel by SMC and IG Traffic.
Hearing a petition filed by hotelier, Shabir Ahmad Rangrez against IGP traffic Basant Rath, SMC commissioner, SHO Shaheed Gunj and others for demolition of canopy at Jehangier Hotel, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar told the SMC to implement the court order in letter and sprit.
Shabir’s counsel earlier told the court that the prosecution has filed report submitted by SHO Shaheed Gunj “in which SHO pleaded disability to submit the full-fledged report owing to the non cooperation of SMC authorities”,
The court directed SHO to proceed against SMC authorities and asked him to submit a detailed report of investigation by July 31.
The hotelier, Shabir Ahmad Rangrez, has pleaded for initiation of contempt proceedings against the IGP traffic Basant Rath, SMC commissioner, SHO Shaheed Gunj and others.
Rangrez’s counsel prime argument was the property has validly existed at the site having permission from SMC authorities and situated on propriety land.
The hotelier contends that by virtue of a court order issued earlier in the suit, the authorities were directed not to damage the property of the plaintiff.
The next hearing for case has been listed for July 31.
