JKEDI holds special awareness program for Sikh community

PAMPORE: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) conducted a mega Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) for the Sikh community at Gurudwara, Chatipadshahi, Rainawari.
The awareness program was jointly conducted by District Centre Srinagar, Centre for Women Entrepreneurship, Kashmir (CWE-K) in collaboration with Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Chatipadshahi.
According to a handout, more than 250 participants were present on the occasion and were briefed about the unemployment scenario in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. They were made aware about the various state and government of India self-employment schemes being implemented by the JKEDI including Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) and Himayat Self Employment Scheme (HSES).
The program is part of the institute’s endeavour to reach out to the educated unemployed youth of the Sikh community and to create awareness among them. The program received an overwhelming response from the community.
The Institute through its awareness programs intends to reach out to the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir and provide them a platform where they can succeed collectively. In the EAPs the participants were acquainted with the realities of labour market in the state along with the scope of entrepreneurship development/self-employment in various sectors of the state economy, read the handout.
