JAMMU: Shahid Cricket Club (SCC) in a lopsided affair beat Brigadier Rajinder Singh Cricket Club (BRCC) by five wickets in the summit clash of JKCA Premier Championship of District Samba played at GGM Science College Hostel ground on Sunday.
The tournament was organized by Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association.
Batting first, BRCC managed to score a modest total of 101 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. In reply, Shahid Cricket Club overhaules the target easily in 17.4 overs, losing 5 wickets.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) JKCA, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the tournament while Sham SaroopKalsotra and Goutam Singh Jamwal were the guests of honour.
Retired Judge Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal along with other dignitaries and members of Samba District Organizing Committee were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari said that winning and losing are part of the game, adding that it is losing which makes one perfect to win. He said that the tournament has been organized in all the districts in which young and experienced cricketers participated.
