JeM module busted in Sopore: Police

Srinagar: Police busted a JeM module by arresting three hardcore active members of the militant organization during naka checking at Haritar and Yarbugh Rafiabad areas, police said on Monday.

Acting on a credible input, a joint team of government forces laid a naka at Haritar area today, police claimed and added that during checking, a suspicious person was apprehended and during preliminary questioning, he revealed his identity as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo son of Ab Rehman Kaloo resident of Takiabal Sopore.

“He is an active member of proscribed militant outfit JeM and 2 grenades, a Matrix sheet of JeM outfit were recovered from his possession,” police said. In this regard a case FIR number 65/2018 under section   7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act,  has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been taken up, police added.

Similarly, police said two more active members of JeM outfit were apprehended by Sopore Police with the assistance of other forces during naka checking at Yarbugh Rafiabad. They were identified as Asif Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Abdul Majeed Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, both residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad.

Police claimed that 1 Hand Grenade, 4 rounds  of AK47 and 2  Matrix sheets of JeM Outfit were recovered from their possession.

A case FIR number 92/2018 under section 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act  has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up, police said.
