Half a dozen people injured by stray dogs in Uri

Baramulla: Half a dozen people including a woman and a child were attacked by stray dogs in Trikanjan village of Boniyar, Uri in this north Kashmir district on Saturday evening.
The injured have been identified as Qazi Imtiyaz Ahmad (28) resident of Baidan, Raja Begum (65) of Trikanjan, Ghulam Mohammed (58) of Trikanjan Ajmat Geelani (6) of Banali village and two others who could not be immediately identified.
The injured were immediately shifted to Public Health Centre (PHC) Boniyar where from three were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla.
Medical Superintendent District Hospital Baramulla, Syed Masood said that one injured has been referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, however others injured are now stable.
Soon after the news spread in the area, the people staged protest against the authorities who fail to curb the population of stray dogs in the area.
