Bandipora: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion department in collaboration with Regional Office Bandipora conducts Government of India campaign “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” in the remote villages Katipora and Chandiwanigam in north Kashmir.
A.K. Dogra, deputy secretary DFS highlights that Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan phase 2 started from 1 June to 15 August which is to conducted in 187 villages of Regional Office Baramulla and Kupwara.
He highlights that in 42 days the bank has enrolled 8699 enrollments under the GOI Social Security Schemes – PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY. He highlights Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan a GOI programme for covering the poor population in the villages of districts Baramulla and Kupwara. He advised all the braches to enrol more and more person under the social security schemes so that the poor and unreachable population may also get the benefits of these schemes. He also advises the bank staff for door to door banking under this campaign so that everyone should get benefit.
Vipan Gupta, senior manager, Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion Department JKGB, highlights that the ongoing campaign is in a mission mode and is aimed to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, spreading awareness about government welfare schemes, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities including cleanliness and strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions.
He strictly advised all the branch Heads of Baramulla and Kupwara region to open the accounts of unbanked population of backward areas of these given 187 villages under Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BhimaYojana (PMSBY). He advised all branches to attain 100% saturation under social security schemes in these 187 villages given by DFS.
LDM Baramulla, Altaf Ahmed Wani, reviewing the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan an initiative for reaching out to the poor households in villages of Districts Baramulla and Kupwara. He appreciated the efforts of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social security schemes a big success.
Regional manager Bandipora, Altaf Hussain Sedique, highlighted that the programme mainly focuses on to enrol more and more individuals under these Social Security Schemes – Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY),Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
