Srinagar: Despite passing of more than four months, Kashmir University (KU) has failed to declare the results of State Eligibility Test (SET) held on March 11.
The aspirants say they are unable to go for further studies or apply for jobs.
“We are not able to apply for any job or any doctorate admission as the eligibility criteria is based on SET or NET qualification,” said Iqra, a candidate awaiting her SET result.
Another candidate Humarah said the authorities at the university are ‘playing’ with their future. “We lost so many opportunities because of the delay in our SET result,” she said.
“We have written our multiple choice pattern SET examination in March. In this modern age of information technology when everything can be done within minutes, hours or days, we still have to wait for 5-6 months for our results,” she added. Another candidate Kashif Ahmad said if UGC can declare result of National Eligibility Test (NET) within 45 days, why can’t KU declare SET results held on same pattern in four months.
“Earlier, KU had uploaded wrong answer key of SET on March 18 which raised many questions. Now they are unable to declare the results,” he said.
He further added that authorities should declare result so that students will have some relief and can go for further studies or jobs.
When contacted, Dean Academic Affairs at Kashmir University, Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf said the results will be declared soon. “The results are ready. They just have to check the proof and some kind of comparison between the original documents and the documented which they have prepare. It’s up to set agency otherwise committee has cleared it,” he said.
