Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday held a meeting of its Uri workers here in which several issues were discussed. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders and workers.
The workers during the meeting said that attempts are being made to break the Congress in Uri, and despite working on grassroots level, they are being ignored by the party leaders.
In view of the forthcoming elections, several workers showed their discontent that the senior workers are being ignored by party leaders to accommodate some new ones. A non-local has created chaos in the party, they complained.
“The workers who contributed a lot in strengthening the Congress Party in Uri are nowhere and are being tossed from pillar to post as there is favouritism,” the workers said.
After the discussion, it was unanimously decided that to strengthen the party, no outside interference will be tolerated and that the non-local actors have no role in Uri constituency.
The meeting ended with a view to bring the issue to notice of the party high command.
Congress in Uri is a divided into two factions; one led by Taj Mohiuddin and another by Ghulam Nabi Monga.
