Saddam Padder’s brother among 3 held in night raids

Shopian: Government forces detained brothers of three slain Hizb militants during nocturnal raids in this south Kashmir district.

Shakir Ahmad Padder, brother of slain Hizb commander Saddam Padder and Sayeel Ahmad Wani, brother of slain militant Nasir Ahmad Wani were picked up from their homes in Heff village by government forces during a nocturnal raid, witnesses told Kashmir Reader Sunday.

In a similar raid in Maldair village, government forces detained a youth identified as Suhail Ahmad,son of Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh, witnesses said. Ahmad is brother of slain militant Irfan-ul-Haq.

SSP Shopian, Sandeep Choudary told Kashmir Reader that he had no information of the arrests.

“I will verify if the arrests have been made,” he added.
