PAMPORE: To provide an insight into the world of entrepreneurship and to make youth aware of different government schemes available to help the educated unemployed youth earn their livelihood, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) conducted a series of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) in different villages of Budgam district wherein more than 280 youth participated.
The awareness programmes were conducted at Arigam Khansahib, Magam, Chadoora and Ohangam Beerwah areas of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. The awareness programmes were held in collaboration with Tehsil Office, Magam and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Budgam.
During these EAPs, JKEDI District Nodal Officer, Budgam, Dr Naila Khanday and Faculty, Ahsan Qadir delivered motivational lectures regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment. SDM Beerwah and Tehsildar Magam were part of the interactive sessions held during the awareness programmes. “The EAPs are part of the awareness campaign of JKEDI for the remote pockets of district Budgam, so that the educated unemployed youth are made aware of the beneficial schemes of the state and central government regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment,” an official handout read.
The Institute through its awareness programmes intends to reach out to the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir and provide them a platform where they can succeed collectively. In the EAPs the participants were acquainted with the realities of labour market in the state along with the scope of entrepreneurship development and self employment in various sectors of the state economy.
