KARGIL: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan on Saturday inaugurated a building for Government Middle School, Kurbathang.
Executive Councillor for Education, Advocate Mohammad Amir, Chief Education Officer, Kargil Mohammad Mussa, staff, students and prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
The building consisting of three class rooms, kitchen and toilet block and was constructed at a cost of Rs 18 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Executive Councillor highlighted the importance of education and said that the talent is present among the students of the district Kargil but need is to channelize it. He said various initiatives have been taken by the Government from the last three years for improving the basic infrastructure under education sector but need is to do more. He said liberal funding is being provided under all the key sectors including education and need is to identify the uncovered areas and benefit them. Asking the teachers to work with utmost dedication and honestly, the CEC said that the teachers should deliver their services promptly and try to achieve the hundred percent results as well as in performance index.
Executive Councillor for Education also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements registered under education sector. The local people put forth various demands including levelling of premises of the school. The CEC gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. In some cases, the CEC gave on the spot directions to the education department for immediate redressal.
