Srinagar: Five People Democratic Party (PDP) rebels, including former Minister Imran Raza Ansari on Friday lashed out at the party President Mehbooba Mufti accusing her of promoting ‘dynasty rule’.

“Mehbooba ignored our pleas and instead promoted family Raj,” Ansari said, while addressing a news conference here this evening.

“Mehbooba is ruling state for two years. People have been taking to arms even during her tenure. Her statement that people will take gun if her MLAs are bought is absurd,” he added.

Ansari said that the MLAs want an end to PDP’s dynasty rule so as to provide some relief to the people of the state.

“We have no faith in Mehbooba’s leadership,” Ansari said.

PDP MLA Javed Beig said that Mehbooba has put the lives of legislators and their families to risk by making statements that youth will take arms if efforts are made to break PDP.

“Mehbooba’s statement is unfortunate. With her statement, she has put our lives and lives of our family and workers at stake,” Beig said.

Beig also refuted allegations that the dissatisfied MLAs were dancing on tunes of external forces.

“PDP has no militants or separatists in its fold,” he added.

He said that the resentment was growing in PDP ever since Mehbooba took charge of the party and became Chief Minister of the state.

“Go through the statement of Muzaffar Beig. See how Tariq Hamid Karra resigned. Resentment was growing against Mehbooba with every passing day,” Beig said.
