Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir National Front Thursday while expressing shock over the killing of Khalid Ahmad Malik in Kupwara said that “opening fire on small incidents has proved the fact beyond doubt that India is strictly working on a policy to make Kashmiri people surrender on gunpoint”.
A spokesperson said “this kind of policy cannot resolve the issue instead it is sure to escalate the situation”.
He said that continuous killings have negatively affected the psyche of the people of Kashmir and they feel suffocated. The killings of Kulgam and Shopian were still afresh and the army killed one more youth in Trhgam giving rise to a situation which may be termed as alarming.
He said that the party remembered the martyrs of 1931 and said that all martyrs since 1931 to 2018 have laid down their lives only for the sake of freedom. “From July 13, 1931 the people of Kashmir are continuously sacrificing for a great cause of freedom,” the spokesperson said adding all the Kashmiri people are on a journey which in fact was started in 1931.
