Restrictions imposed in north Kashmir’s Trehgam to thwart protests

Srinagar: Strict restriction have been imposed in and around Trehgam village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday to thwart any protests against the killing of a youth by army soldiers late last night.

Local sources told Kashmir Reader that all the roads leading to Trehgam have been sealed by government forces and people are not allowed move around by heavy deployment of police and para-military troopers.

They said that body of the slain Khalid Gaffar Malik is yet to be buried and people have announced his funeral prayers at 9 am today.

Khalid was killed late last evening after hit by bullets of army after soldiers allegedly opened fire on few stone pelting youth.

Trehgam is on Kupwara Chokibal road almost 8 to 10 Km’s from the district headquarter Kupwara.
