Srinagar: J&K GRAMEEN Bank conducted GOI campaign “GRAM SWARAJ ABHIYAAN”at village Debbugjh (unbanked area) and Dobiwan under the Branch Office- Kunzer and Dobiwan under Regional Office Bandipora.
Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department in collaboration of Regional Office Bandipora under the Chairamanship of Janak Raj Angural conducts Govt of India campaign “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” in the remote villages Debbugjh and Dobiwan under the Branch Office- Kunzer and Dobiwan.
A.K. Dogra, Deputy Secretary DFS, was the chief guest on the occasion, aware the people about the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan a GOI programme for covering the poor population in the villages of Districts Baramulla & Kupwara.Advised all the braches falling in his region to enrol more and more person under the social security schemes so that the poor and unreachable population may also get the benefits of these schemes. He also advises the Bank Staff for door to door banking under this campaign so that everyone should get benefit.
LDM Baramulla, Altaf Ahmed Bani, reviewing the Abhiyaan an initiative for reaching out to the poor households in villages of Districts Baramulla & Kupwara. The programme was focus on maximum enrolment of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). He appreciated the efforts of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social security schemes a big success. He aware the gathering about these schemes and requested them to enroll under these social security schemes.
Vipan Gupta, Sr. Manager, Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion Department, JKGB was also present during the occasion, highlights Abhiyaan Phase 2 started from 01 June 2018 to 15 August 2018 conducting in 187 villages of Regional Office Baramulla and Kupwara. He highlights that in 40 days the bank has enrolled 7689 enrollments under the GOI Social Security Schemes . He highlights that the ongoing campaign is in a mission mode and is aimed to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, spreading awareness about government welfare schemes, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities including cleanliness and strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions. He strictly advised all the Branch Heads of Baramulla and Kupwara region to open the accounts of unbanked population of backward areas of these given villages.
Regional Manager Bandipora, Altaf Hussain Sedique, highlighted that the programme mainly focuses on to enrol more and more individuals under these Social Security Schemes viz., Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY),PradhanMantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).200 people attendant the camps and atleast 150 enrolments was done during the programme.The masses was also about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, Online Banking, IMPS, SMS Banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc. to promote the digital banking and move towards the less-cash economy.
DGM J&K Bank, Karanjeet Singh also present at the occasion. He appreciated the efforts made by the bank to giving the benefits to the unbanked rural people of the villages.
Branch Head Kunzer Shabir Ahmad & Branch Head Dobiwan Sonaullah Wani also aware the people regarding use of social security schemes i.e.,PMJDY, PMJJBY & PMSBY. They aware people about the various lending schemes tailored by our bank for General Public available on easy EMIs i.e. Housing Loan, Transport Loan, Car Loan, Education Loan, etc., where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive, RuPay debit cards were also distributing to the customers and presented the vote of thanks.
