4 drug peddlers held in Jammu

Jammu, July 12: Four alleged drug peddlers were arrested and over 25 kg of poppy was seized from them in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Harjeet Singh was arrested in Dharab, on the outskirts of Jammu city, after 20 kilograms of poppy was recovered from the oil tanker that he was driving, they said.

While, Ajit alias Jeetu and Tasreem Kumar were held in Mottey village of R S Pura in Jammu district after 3.5 kg of poppy straw was found in their possession, they added.

The fourth arrest was that of Waseem Akram, who was arrested in Domail in Doda district for carrying three kilograms of poppy, police said.
