Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed across the Valley in response to the call given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the killing of civilians by the government forces.

In this capital city, all shops, offices, educational institutes, petrol pumps, business establishments remained closed while skeletal transport plied on the otherwise busy roads and highways, reports said.

The shutdown called by JRL against the alleged bloodshed and atrocities by the government forces, also witnessed thin attendance of employees in the government offices.

Stringent security measures have been put in place in most parts of this capital city to foil any protests against the civilian killings.

Meanwhile, reports of shutdown against the civilian killings have also been received from other major towns of the Valley.
