Bandipora: Crime Branch Srinagar has raided the house of a junior employee of power development department in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District for making scores of illegal appointments and mutating records in lieu of money.
The Crime Branch officials identified one Mushtaq Ahmad Malik resident of Arahagam Bandipora, who was working on a clerical post at Subdivision Sumbal, Bandipora, now attached with the office of Superintendent Engineer Ganderbal has been found involved in various ‘frauds’ including “appointing hundreds” of youth in the PDD in lieu of monetary benefits.
The officials revealed that besides taking lacks of rupees for making illegal appointments, he also changed the official record of seniority and promotions.
The accused was arrested yesterday after FIR was lodged against him after receiving many complaints against him, a Crime Branch official said.
The sources also revealed that Malik has accumulated property and assets more than his income.
The Crime Branch did not share the details regarding the recovery during the raid on his house in Bandipora.
