Jaish militant’s father dies of heart attack

Shopian: Father of a newly recruited militant died of heart attack after hearing news that his son was trapped in a gunfight in Kundalan village here.

Mohammad Ishaq Naikoo of Memendher village here suffered a massive heart arrest when he heard that his son Zeenat-ul-Islam, a newly recruited Jaish militant was among the militants trapped by government forces in Kundalan village in the wee hours today, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Naikoo, they said, was instantly shifted to the district hospital by his relatives.

“The man was brought dead to the hospital,” Medical Superintendent, district hospital Shopian, Dr Zahoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.

Pertinently, a fierce encounter broke out in Kundalan village in the wee hours today leaving a JCO and a soldier injured. Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in a residential house.
