SRINAGAR: Expressing grief and shock over the killing of three civilians in government forces’ firing in Redwani, Hawoora village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Saturday, Jammu Kashmir National Front has said that forces have been given licence to kill the innocent and unarmed Kashmiri people.
“Irony is that not a single authority from Srinagar to New Delhi dares to ask questions to the men in uniform about the mayhem they have created,” a party spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
Expressing grief over the killings, he said not a single voice is being heard throughout the world in favour of “oppressed” Kashmiris “who are being wiped out by the Indian forces and their collaborators”.
He expressed solidarity with the parents of slain youth and prayed for the recovery of injured.
JKNF spokesperson also paid tributes to slain Hizb commander Burhan Wani on his second anniversary, and remembered all those who killed during the 2016 uprising.
Remembering Burhan Wani, he said, “The charismatic militant commander exhibited political maturity at a young age and before his martyrdom showed a way of resistance to youth which they are following religiously since then.”
He termed Burhan as “the youngest resistance leader the world over who rules the hearts of the people even after his death”. “Shaheed Burhan will always be remembered for his efforts to keep the youth united and hold the torch of resistance strongly,” he said.
The NF spokesperson strongly condemned the arrest and shifting of women resistance leader and Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda to Delhi.
“Arresting women and shifting them to far off places is nothing but to terrify the pro-freedom people of Kashmir who demand their established right of self determination,” he said.
The spokesperson said that NF chairman Nayeem Khan was also arrested only because he demanded the same right.
“Now, Aasiya Andrabi and her two colleagues have also been targeted for the same. Neither the resistance leaders nor the pro-freedom people will get terrified by such cowardly acts of New Delhi. The whole nation will continue to demand what the world community has promised to them,” he said.
