Militants appear in slain civilian’s funeral attended by thousands in south Kashmir

Srinagar: A group of militants Saturday appeared in the funeral of three slain civilians including a teen age girl who were allegedly killed in Army firing in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Three civilians including a teenage girl were killed allegedly in government forces firing during clashes in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district earlier in the day.

They were identified as Shakir Ahmad Khanday (22), Irshad Ahmad (20) and a girl Andleeba (16), all residents of Hawoora, Redwani.

They were killed after Army soldiers opened firing on protesters during clashes in the village.

Witnesses said that thousands of persons were present in the area to take part in the funeral prayers of the slain. Many such funeral prayers have been offered so far, they said.

They added that a group of militants also appeared on the scene who offered gun salute to the slain civilians by firing many shots in air.
