Tral: Militants appeared at the grave of slain Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani in Tral town on Friday and offered a gun salute to him, two days ahead of his second death anniversary on July 8.
Wani, along with two other militants, was killed on July 8, 2016, in Bemdoora village of Kokernag in Anantnag district.
As per local sources in Tral, two to three militants appeared at the grave of Wani in broad daylight and offered a gun salute.
“The militants fired 6 to 7 shots in the air before leaving the area,” a local source told Kashmir Reader.
The incident took place soon after Friday congregational prayers.
There was no cordon and search operation following the gunshots.
Kashmir Reader tried to get the police version from SP Awantipora, Zahid Malik, but he did not attend to phone calls.
