SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, party’s zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal said that placing the resistance leaders under house arrest has become a fond hobby of police and the establishment.
“Imposing restrictions to suppress people’s voices is no democracy but worst kind of dictatorship which Indian rulers are practicing under the grab of so-called biggest democracy,” Kalwal said in a statement.
Terming the crackdowns in south Kashmir’s Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and other parts of valley as “worst oppression”, JKLF leader said “beating and torturing common people without the discrimination of age and gender, vandalising and destroying their properties, arresting young boys and torturing them, humiliating elders and community leaders has become an order of the day which is highly condemnable”.
